Managing this world position has been a product of great leadership from the government and of course the support and backing of its people and the private sector. Costa Rica’s world leadership is most evident in the naming of Christiana Figueres to the Executive secretary of the United Nations Framework on Climate Change, Ms. Figueres has over 15 years of experience on the Costa Rican negotiating team that search for impactful results, one that will help propel other countries onto the mitigation path that Costa Rica has already take.
